Table Top
I kept shading and lighting in this one to a minimum because i didnt want to spend several hours making this piece. I've always liked simplicity anyway, not every artists needs to have a super realistic drawing style. Everybody's a little different, and so is their art. At first i used to laugh at Picasso's work because it looked like a 5 year old kid could produce it, but after a while it didnt seem so bad. I mean, could you imagine if everybody's artwork looked the same? What a nightmare that would be.

Painting - Green FLower
A digital painting of a green flower next to a sunset. Not very impressive although i do like how the sunset turned out. No reference images were used in making this, it was all done from imagination... although you could probably already tell. Ive noticed how most beginning artist's have a tendency to make things look very flat whenever they draw anything without using a reference. Although this painting here is somewhere in between flat and three dimensional.....2.5D?...lol

Vector Art - Self Portrait
This is a self portrait i did while learning how to do vector style art. For those who dont know what vector graphics is, it's a form of scalable graphics based on geometrical primitives such as lines, curves, polygons, and points. Art created using vector based modeling can be scaled up indefinitely and never lose quality, where as rasterized formats such as jpeg, gif, png ect... they all get pixelated when scaled up or magnified.
Now for simplicity's sake ive posted a rasterized version of my self portrait because uploading the .svg file seem to be a little tricky and i like to keep things simple ^_^.

Deep Paint 2.0
Oh and btw, This program is completely free, which is kind of a big deal considering this same program used to sell for around $299 when it was first released. So everyone with a digital pen tablet should have this program in their computer.

Jessica Rabbit
Man...what'a woman!...Jessica Rabbit from the movie "Who Framed Roger Rabbit". She may be a cartoon but she can steal your heart in a heartbeat. This is my first time doing a drawing in full color with shading... Not bad for a first try. I was listening to the soundtrack to this while trying to think of something to draw and Jessica was the first one that pop'd into my head. At first i was just gonna leave it as a sketch like usual but soon as the sketch was over i wanted to keep going. I remember watching the movie thinking " how the hell did they do that". Who Framed Roger Rabbit ( for those who dont know) is a movie where live actors and cartoon characters interact together ( something that has never been done before in a feature film ). If you havn't seen this movie before, go watch it right now!

Mortal Kombat - Sheeva
I wish I could have done a bit better on the face but oh well. Sheeva from the game Mortal Kombat (why do they spell it with a K?...) One of the most goriest, violent games in its time. Im surprised it ever made it to store shelves with the amount of blood and violence it had. One year previous, Id Software had launched its Wolfenstine 3d with moderate gore and violence, but soon after MK came out they decided to ride the bandwagon and developed and released the game Doom....(drool)...... The 90's were when violence and video gaming began their long lived love affair and have been together ever since ^_^.

Spiderman - Mysterio
One of the lesser known villains from the Spiderman universe. Mysterio....or as I used to call him "Fish Bowl Head". Just looking at him invoked a sense of mystery ... because his appearance dosnt tell us much about his abilities or background....but then again i guess that was the whole idea.

Mickey Mouse
Another day, another doodle. I should start finding harder stuff to draw cause drawing easy stuff wont get me anywhere....but it is fun to draw and whenever im feeling lazy i can just whip something up real quick. This drawing was from the Disney movie Fantasia, starring that love able, broom murdering mouse, Mickey Mouse.

Good ol' Rocky & Bullwinkle. Who dosnt love a flying squirl and talking moose? I wonder if this show is still on the air...hm.... This sketch was noticeably quicker than the ones before... could i be getting better at drawing 0_0? we'll just have to wait and see ^_^.

One Piece - Monkey D. Luffy
A quick sketch of the main character of One Piece , Monkey D. Luffy. I've always wondered why this show was #3 most watched anime. For the longest time i wouldnt watch an episode because i thought the art was really tacky. But now that im knee deep in the series i've come to appreciate the art style that the creator used. Its totally origional and unique, unlike 99% of the other anime / manga's out on the market.
Again, theres no video with this one because im feeling lazy today lol.

One Piece - Sanji
If Sanji had any skills when it came to women, we'd be seeing scenes like this on every episode. There wont be a video to this because there was a bad storm last night and the power went out a few times so i lost all of my undo history...again.... At first i thought this drawing was going to turn out really crappy because i have a hard time drawing human characters but surprisingly it turned out pretty nice. It might not be professional level art but i still like it.

Sylvester and Tweety
I was thinking about what i wanted to draw for today's post so i originally picked Tweety because he was a really simple character and i could draw him in twenty minutes or less... But then i wanted to draw him all cool looking so i made him look like a samurai lol. But then i wanted Sylvester in the drawing as well.... To make a long story short i only wanted to spend twenty minutes and ended up spending a bit longer on it.
What made me want to draw this, is the fact that i always hated how hapless and weak Tweety always is. This poor little bird always being chased around. I wanted to make a bad ass "Samurai Champloo" kind of Tweety hahaha!

Ariel and Jasmine
Disney sure knows how to make em right... Im talking about princesses. Half cute, half sexy. I kind of took a little bit of artistic license with the eyes but the rest of the character are pretty much as they were designed. Im a little embarrassed that it took me a little longer to sketch these two than it should have. I've always admired artists who could sketch a picture in under five minutes without breaking a sweat, and still have it look good as can be. One thing that is more than likely slowing me down is the fact that im using a pen tablet to draw all of these time lapse sketches. Although that is not an excuse because even a semi talented artist could draw on it just as fast as with pen and paper. However, one thing that i am having great difficulty doing is drawing good solid lines. That is why everything i draw is really REALLY sketchy. That is one major drawback with using a pen tablet i guess but i really dont mind at all. Its actually rather nice to be able to just sketch like crazy and not worry about mistakes.

Drawing Exercise
Today's sketch is just a bit of an visualization exercise for me. Im trying to get a feel for character design and making a characters personality come through in their pose. Although the end result isn't something to be very proud of, i still feel like ive gained something from drawing this. I wonder if i should do more of these...hm.....

Ren and Stimpy
I used to love watching this show when i was a kid. They would always do outrageous stuff even when they were on kids cable TV channel ( nickelodeon ). And even more so when they moved to Spike TV....but even the adult television station couldn't handle how far this cartoon pushed the envelope when it came to craziness. Ren and Stimpy is one of my most favorite cartoons of all times for sure ^_^

My 30'th Post
Where does the time go? Marvel vs Capcom characters Chun Li, War Machine, and Stryder Hiryu. Anybody who's ever played this game cant help but love all of the characters in it. Although these chibi sketches dont do them justice, i had fun sketching this one. And to anybody who hasnt played Mvc, go out and play it.

Imaginary Mannequin
I've got an imaginary mannequin! But I cant show it to anyone because its imaginary ( duh! ). But what i can do is my best to draw it for you. I got a little bored with drawing ordinary stick figures so i decided it was time to move on to mannequins. However, using a real physical mannequin would defeat the whole purpose of drawing from imagination so im drawing from an imaginary mannequin ^_^. Smart eh?. Anyway, I think i will stick to doing things this way until i improve a little bit with drawing the human form.

Blah...
I know Im supposed to be drawing every day... and i have been. Today I sat down and tried drawing something original for a change. But everything that i draw, i end up hating... Ive even been tempted to crumple them up and throw them away. But i just stuck them in a file instead. Drawing gets me kind of aggravated sometimes whenever i cant come up with anything cool.

Raziel and Neku
Two main characters from two totally different games. I wanted to try and draw Neku because i liked the art style the artist used for him. He has an edgy feel that for some reason reminds me of graffiti art. Also i wont be "inking" my sketches for a while. I want to focus on my drawing ability rather than making whatever i draw look nice and neat.

More Doodles
I know i know...you guys are probably getting sick of doodles. Im not being lazy or anything, Im just trying to find my own style of drawing. I'll try and draw something worth looking at tomorrow. Right now my wrists and fingers are really sore from practicing for an upcoming show ( i play mostly keyboards ) which is why i draw in the mornings. 5 points to anyone who can spot domo-kun in this doodle ^_^.

Random Doodle
Wikipedia sais:
"A doodle is a type of sketch, an unfocused drawing made while a person's attention is otherwise occupied. Doodles are simple drawings that can have concrete representational meaning or may just be abstract shapes.""Unfocused" sounds about right... I wanted to see what kind of stuff i would draw without a clear theme or focused direction. It seems like cartoon style art is my Cup-Of-Tea. Although i want to do more doodles just to make sure of it. More can be done story-wise when it comes to toon style drawing as opposed to more realistic looking style art. At least i think so.
Also, there wont be any video to go with this post. Part of it has to do with the fact that i accidentally lost all of my undo history for this drawing, and the other fact is that its just a doodle. Nothing really worth watching anyway.

Sketch Practice
In the interests of developing my own style of drawing Ive started sketching from imagination. No reference images of any kind were used in this sketch. As you can tell i need lots of work... or maby not... Ive always liked drawing cartoon-ish style characters, way more than realistic ones. Growing up i idolized Disney style art and characters, each one was very unique and had distinct personalities that seemd to come to life. Developing my own style should be a fun journey.

Bleach - Yoruichi
I need practice drawing human characters so you are probably going to be seeing a lot more these coming weeks. I'd like to be able to draw a pretty good looking human character in under an hour, at present it takes a bit of drawing before im satisfied... and thats moving at a pretty quick pace. Anybody have any advice for drawing human characters feel free to leave comments.

Soul Caliber- Taki
My feeble attempt at drawing Taki from Soul Calibur. I have a really hard time drawing human characters... so my apologize for doing such a bad job. All the more reason i should keep trying. Most characters in comic books are humans right? Like they always say, practice makes perfect.

Tony Tony Chopper and Kon
Another day, another drawing. I realize my sketches are very quick and drity but i like it that way. Its fluid and loose and fast and easy. Id be pulling my hair out if it wasn't. Over time my lines will become less loose and more fluid but for now im very happy with the way i draw. Its stress free, the way it was ment to be. I've got a few fantasy books that ive been meaning to read. A friend of mine pointed out that in order to draw from nothing, you need a strong imagination. At first i didnt think much of it but now i realize what he was talking about and he was right. So ive got a hold of a good fantasy book to read and give my imagination a good work out ^_^.

Earthworm Jim
Man, i used to love playing this game. One of the only games i had for my now retired sega genesis. I had a bit of fun drawing these two characters. Psycrow was my favorite villain character in the whole game because he was just soo damn cool looking. I mean look at him... a crazy crow with a rusty hook gun and a mean grin with evil eyes....soo awesome.

Marvel Chibi
I was gonna do some more drawing on the left side of this picture but an emergency came up. I have to help a friend with his computer problem. The basket ball character in this picture is just some random character i drew so dont scratch your head trying to figure out who he is.

Chibi Style
Since im getting used to drawing cute stuff, i figured I'd give chibi style a chance. Chibi is a cute super deformed version of regular anime, and it is alot simpler to draw since proportions are pretty much easy for this style of drawing. It's a very minimalistic style and looks really good when done right.

Drawing like a 5yo
Everything in today's drawing is 100% original. I wanted to draw some really simple stuff and this is what i came up with. I really like this style of drawing. Its fast, fun and easy to do. It may not be the most impressive style of drawing but i can appreciate it. I hope others like it too. You may have also noticed that i licensed it under the Creative Common's license. Drawing from reference may be easy-ish... but drawing from imagination isn't. The only thing in this picture drawn from reference is the skeleton to the left... and even that is iffy.... Ive got a long way to go before im ready to start making a comics

Stick it to em'
I think i might start drawing from reference more often. Just so i can get used to using this wacom tablet. I always knew buying one was a good idea ^_^. As u can tell i started drawing more amazing stickmen but wanted to have some fun with this and draw some other stuff too.
